Token expired: reconnect
The access Instagram gives falatu lasts 60 days, and we renew it automatically every day. Even so, it drops if you change your Instagram password, remove falatu's permission or Instagram asks for a fresh login.
When that happens, falatu:
- marks the account as Instagram disconnected (it shows under the logo in the app);
- pauses the active automations, so nothing goes out half-done;
- sends you an email: "Instagram @youraccount disconnected".
To fix it: on Home, tap Reconnect (or go to Settings → Accounts → Connect another account and log in to the same account). Automations paused by the disconnection switch back on by themselves.
DM not sent
The public reply went out but the DM didn't arrive? Check these, in this order:
- Message requests. For someone who's never chatted with you, the DM lands there. Ask them to look.
- Message access. On Instagram: Settings → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools → Allow access to messages. Without it, the DM doesn't go out and button taps don't come in.
- The link. An automation with no link can't stay active. Open the editor and check.
- Old comment. More than 7 days old? Instagram won't allow a DM; falatu replies publicly with the link.
- They already got it. One DM per person per automation. The post's activity shows "already received".
- Ask to follow. On Soft and Strict, the link only goes after the tap on ✅ Me manda. If they didn't tap, they haven't got it yet.
- Hourly limit. On a post going viral, some DMs may wait a few minutes.
Comment with no reply
On the post's page, the Activity tab shows what falatu did with each comment. The most common reasons for no reply:
- The automation isn't Active (it's in shadow mode, a draft or paused). In shadow mode you see "falatu would: …" and nothing goes out.
- The comment came before you activated. Only comments after Activate get a reply.
- It wasn't a request: questions, complaints and long messages go to Needs you. Comments with a link are ignored.
- It's from your own account. falatu doesn't reply to you. Test from another account.
- The word doesn't match: check the keyword and the variants in the editor.
- The robot is paused for that person (someone replied from Needs you in the last 24h).
Account doesn't show up
- It's a personal account. Only professional accounts (Creator or Business) show up. See Connect Instagram.
- You logged in to the wrong account. Instagram's login uses whichever account is open in the browser or the app. Log out of it, log in to the right one and connect again.
- It's already linked to another falatu account. You'll see "That Instagram account is already connected to another falatu account." Log in with the other account or write to us.
- Posts don't show up. They arrive within a minute of connecting. Older posts show up too: falatu reads your 50 most recent.
